In 2025, Spada marks three decades as the voice and engine of New Zealand’s screen producers. The 30th Spada Conference is both a celebration (#LOVELOCAL) and a strategic look ahead — examining how we got here, what’s shifting now, and where the next 30 years might take us. From AI to IP, cultural leadership to commercial impact, join the people shaping the future of screen in Aotearoa.

The 30th Spada Conference will be held
Thursday 20 & Friday 21 November 2025
at The Pullman Hotel, Auckland

The following information will help you plan your attendance at this year's Spada Conference.

Day One (Thursday 20 November) includes: 

• 08:30 AM - Registration Desk opens
• The morning includes the Welcome / Opening Remarks followed by the NZ On Air John O’Shea Memorial Address and a full day of plenary and breakout sessions
• 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM the 27th Annual Spada Screen Industry Awards
• 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM the Opening Night Cocktail Party

Day Two (Friday 21 November) includes:

• 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM panel discussions & roundtables
• 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM the Great Screenrights Lunch which includes the South Pacific Pictures 'BIG PITCH' Competition
• 2:00 PM - the 30th Spada Conference concludes.

* The 2025 NZ Screen Awards are being held that evening (Friday 21), with the Red Carpet opening at 6:00 pm.
