Tim Burnell is the Commissioning Team Leader at RNZ. He has a Production and Customer Service background working in Film, Web, Television, and Radio.

The RNZ Commissioning Team is a strategic department who work alongside external producers on new, interesting and innovative public service programming for emerging and transformational audiences - in particular, rangatahi, Māori, Pasifika, and Pan-Asian New Zealanders.

The RNZ slate is mostly geared towards video productions, although there are often a handful of commissioned podcasts in the works.
