Before joining Sky New Zealand Originals as Head of Scripted, Thomas Robins had a 25-year career as an actor, director, writer, and producer.
After a few appearances on screen (Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit), Thomas turned his hand to directing (The New Legends of Monkey (Netflix), Catching the Black Widow (TVNZ), and Written In The Stars (Hallmark).
Thomas wrote and produced Girl vs Boy, and Catching the Black Widow.
In 2010, Thomas won an International Emmy for Reservoir Hill with David Stubbs through their company KHF Media.

In 2024, Thomas became head of Sky NZ Originals and now works with the team to build a world-class slate of projects for local and global audiences. Their scripted focus is on premium, local, and international co-productions, and recent commissions include: Dark City: The Cleaner (with Lionsgate), Secrets at Red Rocks (with BYUtv), The Ridge (with BBC Scotland), and Bust Up! (with ZDF).
Thomas joins the Commissioner's Roundtable at the 30th Spada Conference.
