Why You Should Join SPADA
What SPADA Can Do For You
SPADA's strength lies in its membership. SPADA's network of key independent screen industry practitioners in New Zealand - as well as its relationship with other industry organisations.
SPADA's position as a key industry lobbying organisation has enabled it to develop a significant profile with Government and key decision makers.
This ensures SPADA members have a strong voice for influencing and advocating for a robust and vital independent screen production industry.
SPADA has ongoing relationships with funders, broadcasters and government. This enables us to represent members in discussions, and encourage a pan-industry view where possible.
SPADA is committed to upskilling screen production professionals. Professional development opportunities through a programme of seminars and workshops.
We create and implement a series of events for networking opportunities, and upskilling and to foster business and creative partnerships.

Code of Best Practice
||SPADA membership commits producers/production companies to the payment of levies on all productions where they are responsible for budgets.
||There is an option of paying a flat dollar rate or a set percentage of the total production budget.
Percentage levies equate to approximately 0.1 to 0.2% (of 1%) of the total budget of projects. EG: total production budget ($) x 0.001 to 0.002
The Code of Best Practice
was developed to reflect and formalise professional standards in the film and television industry. All members of SPADA must adhere to it. View the document
