Karen Soich has been practicing in the field of entertainment law, intellectual property and employment law for the past 15 years. Karen's client base includes a broad cross-section of production and record companies, agencies, individual producers, artists, musicians, writers and broadcasters.

Karen is the founding member of WIFT ( Auckland ) Inc, working on the Executive of WIFT 1994-1998 and then on the Governance Board for the past three years.

From 1994-2002 Karen worked on the Executive of SPADA, being Vice-President in 1999 and President in 2000 and 2001. During that time she wrote and/or collaborated in drafting various submissions on behalf of SPADA in relation to the Employments Relations Bill 2000, CER, Digital Technology and the Copyright Act, Performers Rights, Parallel Importing, Censorship and Local Content.
