STEPHEN MCQUILLAN

Stephen McQuillanStephen McQuillan has recently moved to New Zealand having previously worked for the BBC as a Producer and Director across several flagship series.  Having started as a Director on Watchdog he moved onto Panorama where he worked on several high profile investigations.  He went on to produce and direct an investigation into the destination of stolen mobile phones for MacIntyre Investigates before moving to the BBC's Specialist Factual Department.  He produced and directed several documentaries within the Business Unit including Gambling On the War which followed two financial traders during the first weeks of the war in Iraq and Cappuccino Kings which examined the huge growth of retail coffee outlets in the UK .  In 2004 he produced The Secretary Who Stole £4 Million the feature length BBC2 dramadoc starring Merra Syal as Joyti DeLaurey the Goldman Sachs PA who stole vast amounts from her employers.  In 2005 he emigrated to New Zealand with his partner and two children where he has continued to do occasional directing for the BBC as well as a Development Executive role at Auckland based South Pacific Pictures.  Next year he will commence work on a two hour dramadoc for TV3 in New Zealand through Isola Productions.
