Rick EllisRick Ellis rejoined TVNZ as its Chief Executive in May 2006, having previously served as Group Chief Executive from 1998 to 2002, when the company was a State Owned Enterprise.

From 2002-2006 he served as Vice President and Managing Director of EDS (New Zealand) Limited, New Zealand ’s largest IT Services employer with a staff of over 2400.  EDS provides IT services to large private and public sector organisations.  Rick is a former Governor of Radio New Zealand , and former Chair of the Television Local Content Quota Group, and the New Zealand Television Broadcasters Association.

From 1995 to 1998, Rick held senior executive positions with the Ansett Airlines Group in both New Zealand and Australia , including Chief Executive Officer of Ansett New Zealand .  Prior to joining Ansett Airlines, Rick pursued a career in the IT industry, holding several senior executive positions with Burroughs Corporation and Wang Laboratories in New Zealand , Australia and the United Kingdom .

From 1992 to 1994, Rick held the position of Managing Director, Wang (UK) Limited, and prior to that, was General Manager of Wang (NZ) Limited for three years.
