'The Secrets of Collaboration, German Style'

Presenting producer Stefan Arndt all the way from Berlin, Germany. Creative and financial collaboration, German style. We hear Stefan's view of the role of producer and creative collaboration with his extraodinary team of directors and writers (X-Filme Creative Pool). Following the signing of the New Zealand German Co-Production Treaty, Stefan discusses how to approach securing finance in Germany and Europe and updates its latest twists and turns, and dealing with US studios. Producer of Run Lola Run, Silent Night, Goodbye Lenin!, The Princess and the Warrior, Heidi M, and Winter Sleepers, Stefan also outlines the benefits of running a production and distribution company (X-Verleih) and cinemas, and talks about his experience of piracy.

Post-Mortem of a Train Crash
Paul Barron built up a successful film and TV production company based in Western Australia that was forced into receivership in 2001 when another company defaulted on a series of production financing and underwriting agreements. Paul will discuss the events leading up to and during the "train crash" as well as describing how he has participated in the subsequent creation of Great Western Entertainment. Since its inception only two years ago GWE has produced over $12m worth of on-location kids drama with another series about to commence photography and a 26 x 1/2 hour sci-fi drama scheduled for production in 2007.

Prime.tv session - the A - Z of Q & A - everything you ever wanted to ask about television.
Prime TV's Progamming Manager, Andrew Shaw, is accused of committing more than 30 years of television. He has pleaded guilty and for his sins is prepared to run the gauntlet of questions - anything you can throw at him that he might be able to answer. Questions can be about Prime, or about television in general. How to start, where to go, who to talk to, how not to do it. The only thing he won't anwer is anything that strays into other people's business or pockets.
And, as extraordinary punishment, if he doesn't know the answer immediately, he will try to find out by the end of conference.
